• Troubleshoot, analyze performance, and improve the app
• Provide AI-assisted content and suggestions when you use AI features (we process pet-related inputs for this purpose)

• Performance of a contract: to provide the app and its features.
• Legitimate interests: to secure accounts, prevent fraud, maintain service quality, and perform analytics proportionately (this covers IP login logs).
• Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws.
• Consent: where required (e.g., certain notifications or region-specific requirements).

4. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. Generally, we retain user-provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. In particular, we may retain your login-derived approximate location (inferred from IP address) to set up the app for your region (for example, localization and relevant features) and for analytics. We review retention periodically and remove or anonymize data when it is no longer needed. If you would like us to delete user-provided data you submitted via the Application, please contact us at hello@studiobueno.co.uk and we will respond within a reasonable time.

5. Sharing and Service Providers

We share information with vendors that help us operate the service. We do not sell your personal information.

• Cloud hosting and storage (e.g., Cloudflare R2 for images)
• Database and infrastructure (e.g., MongoDB Atlas)
• Authentication and app tooling (e.g., Expo and related services)
• AI text generation (OpenAI API): we send pet-related inputs to generate text and suggestions. We do not intentionally send personal identifiers. See provider policies for details: Terms and Privacy.
• Analytics/crash reporting as applicable

Only aggregated, anonymized data may be periodically transmitted to external services to help improve the Application and our service. We configure providers to minimize data retention and do not opt in to provider data use for model training where such options are available. We may disclose information to law enforcement or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Disclosure of Information

• As required by law (e.g., to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process)
• When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
• With trusted service providers working on our behalf, who do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them and who agree to adhere to this Privacy Policy

7. Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available on your device or via the application marketplace.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, password hashing, rate limiting) and physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal information, and to data portability.

You can delete your account at any time using the in-app option or our online deletion portal: https://account.doggy-diary.com/delete.html. You may also request deletion of user-provided data via email at hello@studiobueno.co.uk.

10. Children

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age, nor do we knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary actions.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own (for example, by our AI provider in the United States). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. You are advised to review this page regularly; your continued use of the Application constitutes approval of any changes.

By using the Application, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
